Written by David Adjmi, directed by Daniel Aukin, and featuring original songs by Academy Award® nominee and Grammy Award® winner Will Butler, formerly of Arcade Fire, Stereophonic became the most Tony Award-winning show of the 2024 season, winning 5 Tony Awards including Best Play, Direction, Scenic Design (David Zinn), and Sound Design (Ryan Rumery).

According to Adjmi, "to accommodate the demands of a national tour, this version of Stereophonic has been edited down to just under 3 hours. We (Adjmi along with Aukin) have affectionately dubbed this cut of the play "The Radio Edit." It was both a challenge and a delight to pare the play down and get it even sharper and more focused."

Speaking candidly about Stereophonic, (having spent 10 years working on the project that changed the lives of everyone involved), Adjmi admits, "As artists, our successes and failures are equally absurd. We are simply hostage to our impulses: we do what excites us and we try to make something we love. Everything else is outside of our control. This production is our labor of love."
