Students Gather Food for the Poor

Valley View Elementary's newly-formed Student Council gets active.

It's been a number of years that has had a student council, for a variety of reasons, but now the fourth, fifth and sixth graders of this tiny school in the far end of the San Fernando Valley are getting active.

Their first project has been to gather food for the hungry, and they are still asking for the community to bring in non-perishable food that they can give to a the Valley Interfaith Council's homeless project.

See the slide show of what they've collected above. People can bring the food before and after school Tuesday for the final collection times.
