Studio City is experiencing a high volume of homeless people

Studio City is a lovely community. I have been a resident of Studio City for 20 years. The neighborhood has changed quite a bit with construction always going on but the city remains a community.

The homeless residents of Studio City are on the rise. Many of the people have had bad luck with the unstable economy. Others are common homeless people we have all seen.

The important thing to remember is they are still human beings. We can close our eyes and ignore the problem or we can be kind and open our hearts somehow.

It has been brought to my attention a homeless man was evicted from his Studio City rental home of 19 years. The city took possession of his belongings and he now walks around with a cart trying to survive each day.

It breaks my heart that so many people are struggling. I too am struggling financially which is why I started recycling bottles. It’s survival to assist with buying groceries, gas and any other incidentals that's are a priority.

Many of these homeless people just need a jump start to find a low cost apartment or even to rent a room from someone. Some of these people are normal like you and I. They just got a bad wrap because they are down their luck. Some of them get a consistent paycheck they receive from their own resources so they are capable of paying their monthly rent.

These are people. Human beings that are struggling. They could be someone’s daughter, son, parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle, cousin, sister, brother, friend. They are people.

Considering Studio City is a wonderful community, I would like to propose an idea to assist our homeless residents. Could we have a bake sale and a car wash to assist in raising funds so they can get their own place to live? I would appreciate any feedback to see if this can become a reality.

Thank you for reading this very important story. I look forward to your response.
