Studio City Neighborhoods: Footbridge Square

Spotlight on the Studio City Neighborhood know as Footbridge Square

Located between Moorpark and Ventura, Laurel Canyon and Whitsett, Footbridge Square Studio City is the starting point to the almost two mile stretch of the LA River that hosts two new, small parks that showcase the revitalization effort. One of the parks is accessed by turning left at the south side of the river on the Laurelgrove Avenue Footbridge and heading down the ramp. This park was opened in 2004 and runs about half a mile from Laurel Canyon to Whitsett Ave. The park features pretty cool rock seating areas, California native plants and river rock ramps.
The area got its name because of the Laurelgrove Avenue Footbridge that crosses the LA River and connects the enclave to Ventura Boulevard's shops and restaurants. Homes are expensive and highly sought after not just because it is located in the Carpenter School District but this is just a great place to live. On any given day you will see Footbridge Square residents out biking, walking, exercising their dogs and enjoying the revitalization of the LA River. Every year they throw their own 4th of July parade and it is something to see.

As is with most of Studio City we are seeing the homes built in the thirties, forties and fifties being bulldozed to make room for the larger homes of today. Only ten homes have sold in Footbridge Square in the past 180 days and four of them were built in 2016. The average price for one of these homes was $2,517,250 for a 5 bedroom, 6 bath, 4100 square foot home.
