Studio City photographer shows her stuff in Silverlake!

I live in Studio City but spend a lot of time in Silverlake where I nanny full-time. I shop between Trader Joe's on Ventura and Laurel Canyon and the Trader Joe's on Hyperion Blvd. in Silverlake. I am lucky enough to be in on the beginning of the adult Artist Series at Trader Joe's/Silverlake. The exhibit runs from May 15-May 29th. The show is on the back wall of Trader Joe's and includes b&w photographs of children called "The Lost Years."

I'm both fascinated and bothered by the fact that I can't remember much before the age of 5 years old. The exploration of new bodies, new places, new spaces. I'm there to capture these moments for these new beings so they can look at the lost moments and understand how they came to be the people they are now. It's sort of become my job to do this. I'm moved and compelled to do this work. I have spent hundreds upon hundreds of hours trying to understand myself and I know now that all I have to do to connect to my "real" self is to look at photos of myself at 2 and 3 and 4. Everything falls into place when I look at my face in those years.

I hope you have an opportunity to stop by and see the show.
