The government affairs committee is requesting that the city take action and have Studio City removed from the state enterprise zone.
Government affairs voted last week to request that councilman Paul Krekorian work with the appropriate city and state agencies in order to remove Studio City from the state enterprise zone.
State enterprise zones are areas in the state that allow businesses to take advantage of the state tax credits and deductions, according to lacity.org.

The site also explains that if a business agrees to the tax deductions, than the businesses will have their parking reduced.
The reduction of parking availability is why government affairs are requesting to be taken out of the SEZ. The state enterprise zone in Studio City is on Ventura Blvd. in-between Lankershim and Carpenter.

The committee also said that Studio City should be removed from the SEZ because the city doesn’t have that much need for it as much as other areas in need of financial help.
Governmental affairs voted on the motion unanimously and wrote a request to Kerkorian in last week's meting.
