Studio City Weather: Cool Temperatures, Some Rain On Tap

After an extended period of warm weather in Studio City, temperatures were forecast to remain cool, with a possibility of rain this week.

STUDIO CITY, CA — A week of cooler temperatures was forecast for Studio City, as temperatures were expected to dip into the 40 degree range each night, according to the National Weather Service. On Monday, the high was 63 and the low was expected to reach a frigid 40 degrees overnight.

Over the weekend, Angelenos in Studio City and the surrounding areas experienced blustery conditions and temperatures finally dipping below 70 degrees.

"With a high temp of only 62 degrees today, the streak of days with a high temp of 70 or higher at Downtown Los Angeles has officially ended at 200 days. This breaks the old record from 1885 by 10 days!" the National Weather Service's Los Angeles office tweeted late Saturday. "Pretty incredible! Time to enjoy temps in the 60s again!"

Los Angeles also finally received some long anticipated rainfall Saturday. Downtown saw about 0.11 inches of rain.

"The streak of days with no measurable precipitation at Downtown Los Angeles has come to an end at 172 days," The NWS tweeted Saturday. "This is a tie for the 7th longest streak in recorded history. It was 47 days shy of the top spot in 1997."

The week ahead in Studio City was forecast by the National Weather Service to remain cool, with the warmest day expected to fall on Veterans Day, Wednesday, reaching a high of 71 degrees.

"Clear skies and below normal temperatures are expected through Thursday morning with near or below freezing temperatures during the early morning hours across inland areas," officials from the National Weather Service wrote. "Clouds will increase on Thursday leading to a chance of rain starting in the afternoon and continuing into Friday morning."

On Tuesday, it will be clear, with a high of 69 degrees and a low of around 43 degrees. Calm winds will become southwest and pick up to 5 mph in the afternoon. In the evening, winds will blow north.

Friday may also see some rainfall before 10 a.m. but the day will be partly sunny, with a high of 66 degrees. The evening will cool down to a low of 48 degrees.

The weekend will see a rise in temperatures, with sunny skies on Saturday and a high of 69. Saturday night will be mostly clear with a low of 48 degrees.

Sunday will start a new week off with warmer temperatures as the high is forecast to reach a near 73 degrees, according to the NWS.

"A warming trend is expected for the weekend into early next week as a weak upper ridge develops and gradients turn lightly offshore," NWS officials wrote. "Most areas should be back up to normal temperatures by Sunday and a few degrees above normal Monday."
