Studio LOL Begins Fall Semester of Comedy Classes for Kids

The beloved children's comedy school on Moorpark Street looks forward to a fall semester of laughs and learning.

Studio LOL is an improv comedy school for kids on Moorpark Street, just east of Whitsett. Students of all levels, from beginners to working professionals, meet for weekly classes throughout the year. The program has been named the “Best Improv Classes for Kids in LA” by Los Angeles Magazine and LA Weekly, and has received rave reviews in LA Parent Magazine and by kids and parents all over Studio City, where it has been in business for almost five years.

Students meet from September to December for weekly classes, culminating in a performance for family and friends. The advanced teen class has an annual holiday tradition of performing at The Two Roads Theater in the Tujunga Village, where they donate 100% of ticket sales to a local charity of the performers’ choosing. Last year they gave to the Make a Wish Foundation of Greater Los Angeles, and in 2012 their show benefited LA Family Housing.

Studio LOL improv comedy classes are quite popular with Studio City residents, due to the instructors’ special eye for bringing out the most outgoing, confident version of young people. The program is not only a source of learning, growing, and socializing, but because they’re taught by comedians, the classes are designed to be funny. The owners/instructors Ryan and Katy Chase balance entertaining and educating in a loving, sweet approach that Studio City parents have come to love.
