Is getting closer to releasing information as to when Neighborhood Councils could be having Elections for Board Seats.  Right now, it appears that near the end of September is when our Region will be holding them.  All Seats are open.  More information will be forthcoming along with how to apply and what the qualifications are.  As soon as we are given a definite date,  DONE will be making election materials available and the SCNC will be coordinating through the Election Committee.

The individual(s) who have been repainting the between Moorpark and Ventura Blvd.,  causing a death trap by blinding the exit areas of several driveways as you enter Colfax,  will now have to deal with the Department of Transportation.  Councilman Paul Krekorian, along with DOT and the LAPD have determined that in order to ensure the safety of all, new signage will be posted along Colfax prohibiting parking.  Vandalism of those signs carries a fine of up to $500 and up to 6 months in prison.  A bit stiffer then just painting a curb and getting a slap on the wrist.

A reminder that at our, Mayoral candidate Kevin James will be our guest - and in June, we will be presenting Councilwoman Jan Perry.    Along with our guest speakers, our committees will be offering up Motions through our vetting process to the Board for action.

Finally, for those interested,  several Neighborhood Council members throughout the City,  who sat on the Commission that appointmed the new Rate Payer Advocate/Executive Director of the LADWP will be honored with a special presentation on Friday, May 18 in the Chamber at City Hall. Open to the Public.

Please remember to be an active member of YOUR communtiy.

Respectfully,

John Walker

President, SCNC
