Tasty Tidbits: Food News from Charlie's Pantry, Katsuya, Ben & Jerry's and More

is expanding his presence in the 818 further by bringing The Izaka-ya by Katsu-ya to Sherman Oaks. It’s the third branch of the  West 3rd Street and Manhattan Beach restaurants and joins Uechi’s other restaurantsin Studio City and Encino.  The 818 eatery will be called  Little Izaka-ya by Katsu-ya, replacing Sushi Fukyo on Sepulveda just south of Ventura.

, the gourmet marketplace eatery that opened in Studio City just over a year ago, is opening a second location in the Beverly Glen Center  south of Mulholland.  According to owner Charlie Pearson,  the new location will be open in approximately four months.  This location will be more expansive with dinner service and a wine bar.

The Ben and Jerry’s  truck is  on a coast to coast tour  giving away their new Greek frozen yogurt for free.  This is the last week  in Los Angeles.  Just tweet them where you are and they may just show up.  Get all the info here.
