Eric is one of the original six creators (along with Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Terry Jones, and Michael Palin) of Monty Python's Flying Circus which began life on BBCTV in 1969. They eventually made six feature films, two of which have been designated the top ten comedy movies of all time.
Eric, together with longtime collaborator and Grammy Award winning consummate pro composer John Du Prez, adapted the motion picture Monty Python and The Holy Grail, into the hit musical Monty Python's SPAMALOT.
In 2005, after running for almost five years on Broadway, SPAMALOT was nominated for 14 Tonys, winning 3, including Best Director for Mike Nichols and the Tony Award for Best Musical, plus a Drama Desk Award and a Grammy for the authors.
SPAMALOT has everything that makes a great knight at the theatre, from flying cows to a Trojan rabbit, British royalty to French taunters, dancing girls, rubbery shrubbery, and of course, the Lady of the Lake.
