Traffic Snarled in Studio City and Toluca Lake Due to Bill Clinton's Birthday Bash—But You Can Listen In

Traffic for miles around the Hollywood Bowl is at a big standstill as Bono, Lady Gaga and Usher help herald in the former president's 65th birthday.

The traffic along Ventura and Cahuenga is backed up to the Colfax Bridge. Every major road through Toluca Lake is at a standstill. Barham is busy, and even the alternate routes are clogged. The blimp is overhead.

Two accidents along Laurel Canyon Boulevard—the alternate way out of Studio City to the main part of Los Angeles—makes the exit routes even more problematic.

It's all because former President Bill Clinton is having a party at the Hollywood Bowl. It's a big party. (See the story in )

Stevie Nicks is billed as a special guest, and people are paying $6,500 per couple to attend at the Hollywood Palladium. The night includes a cocktail reception, dinner and a live auction. Saturday's concert at 7 p.m. is planned at the Hollywood Bowl with Lady Gaga, Bono, Kenny Chesney, Edge, Somali-born rapper and singer K’Naan, Colombian singer-songwriter Juanes, Kenny Chesney and Usher are among the performers.

The William J. Clinton Foundation organized the event to raise money to support its charitable giving and philanthropic activities. It’s perhaps best known for launching the Global Initiative, the annual meeting that pairs companies and philanthropists with nonprofits to tackle issues such as affordable AIDS and HIV treatment, climate change and improving access to health care.
