Trump Calls Rep. Adam Schiff 'Sleazy,' Schiff Implies The President's A Couch Potato
After president Donald Trump dubbed Rep. Adam Schiff "Sleazy," Schiff fired back, accusing the president of watching too much TV: BREAKING.
BURBANK, CA — President Donald Trump turned his penchant for name-calling on San Fernando Valley Congressman Adam Schiff (D-Burbank) Monday, calling the the ranking Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee "sleazy."
For his part, Schiff was more than happy to engage the president on his favorite medium.
The president's latest Twitter feud started Monday morning with a scattershot of Tweets aimed at the President's usual targets, namely Democrats, the news media, Hillary Clinton and even his own party. Then at 6:12 a.m. he singled out Schiff, a vociferous critic of the president.

He tweeted, "Sleazy Adam Schiff, the totally biased Congressman looking into "Russia," spends all of his time on television pushing the Dem loss excuse!"

House Intelligence Committee has been investigating the Trump campaign's ties to Russia, and Schiff, a former prosecutor has been hitting the airwaves to help keep the investigation in the limelight. It's the first time Trump went after Schiff via twitter, and the congressman had no qualms about hitting back.

``With respect Mr. President, the problem is how often you watch TV, and that your comments and actions are beneath the dignity of the office," Schiff tweeted back before pinning the tweet to the top of his twitter page.

John J. Pitney, Jr., a professor of government and politics at Claremont McKenna College, told the LA Daily News the exchange proves that Schiff is getting under Trump’s skin and that the president “isn’t very smart.”
“If there’s one thing that unites Democrats in California and the nation, it’s hatred of Trump — and being attacked by Trump is a badge of honor,” Pitney told the newspaper.
