TV Host Kiki Shepard Bowls With Stars for Sickle Cell Awareness

It's Showtime in Studio City at the bowling alley Friday night.

Wayne Brady, Vivica A. Fox, Theresa Randle, Jenifer Lewis and slew of Hollywood actors and singers will bowl with It's Showtime at the Apollo TV host Kiki Shepard in Studio City for a fundraiser Friday night to raise awareness of Sickle Cell disease.

Shepard uses this event and an annual golf tournament to get people award to learn more about the illness that strikes 54,000 babies every year, one in 2,500, and afflicts people with a lifelong condition.

The party will be held at the PINZ Bowling near Jerry's Deli on Ventura Boulevard and include notables including Quinton Aaron, Victoria Rowell, James Pickens Jr., Dawnn Lewis, Chandra Wilson, Jackeé Harry, Obba Babatundé, Tracie Thoms, Thom Barry, Rocky Carroll, Reginald VelJohnson, Dule' Hill, Dorien Wilson, Loretta Devine and many more.

Shepherd started the organization in 2007 to help raise money to find a cure. She does not have the illness, but she does carry the hereditary Sickle Cell trait. Her K.I.S. Foundation helps educate the public and raise awareness about the disease through community outreach programs and educational scholarships.

The party will include auctions, awards ceremony, 50/50 raffles, surprise entertainment and has a guest list that includes Vanessa Bell Calloway, Dondre' Whitfield, LisaRaye McCoy, Michael Colyar, , Bill Bellamy, Flex Alexander, Quinton Aaron, Arjay Smith, Art Evans, Clifton Powell, Gina Rivera, Earl Billings, Chico Benymon, Omar Miller and many others.
