Tree Trimmers Causes Studio City Power Outage
The Department of Water and Power is investigating the problem in Studio City.

STUDIO CITY, CA — A tree trimming operation resulted in downed power lines Tuesday in the Studio City area, interrupting some electrical service but resulting in no injuries, authorities said.
Firefighters were sent to the 11400 block of West Moorpark Street about 9:50 a.m. on a report of a possible explosion and smoke being seen from a manhole cover, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
It turned out there was no underground vault explosion, according to the LAFD, which reported that tree trimmers "caused downed power lines, which impacted a transformer and likely caused some smoke visible from a manhole cover."
