Universal Studios CityWalk Begins Phased Reopening

Voodoo Doughnut, Johnny Rockets, Blaze Pizza, Starbucks, Crepe Cafe, are among the shops open for business at Universal Studios CityWalk.

UNIVERSAL CITY, CA — It's been three months since crowds strolled the CityWalk entertainment district, but on Wednesday CityWalk favorites began opening their doors for the first time since the shutdown. Visitors should be prepared to have their temperatures checked amid various social distancing measures.

The phased reopening of the entertainment district began at noon Wednesday with select shops and eateries once again welcoming visitors. Among the shops and eateries reopening during the initial phase are Voodoo Doughnut, Johnny Rockets, Blaze Pizza, Starbucks, Crepe Cafe, Pizza Hut/KFC, Taco Bell and Buca di Beppo, along with retailers Shoe Palace, Skechers and Guess Accessories.

The main attraction, Universal Studios Hollywood, remains closed.

CityWalk will be open from noon to 8 p.m., and during the initial reopening, parking will be free.

It won't be the same as before the coronavirus pandemic, however. Health restrictions will be in place, including temperature checks for guests upon arrival, with those having a temperature higher than 100.4 being denied entry.

Visitors will also be required to wear face coverings, and businesses will be required to limit occupancy. There will also be "rigorous cleaning and disinfecting at all high touch points, including chairs and tables."
