When I yearn for my turkey, potatoes and dressing.

I don’t adore tofu or big plates of greens

Or mountains of cabbage with servings of beans.

Vegans eat stuff that can never have kids.

They microwave mush, removing the lids.

“What was that” I ask, “in its previous state?”

An eggplant, zucchini, or a yam with a date!

They eat broccoli, kale, mushrooms and peas.

Second helping? No thanks. Really?  No, please.

Because of the drought we can’t have a tree.
