Walter Reed Becomes a High School for TV
The school was the setting for 'Harry's Law' with Oscar winner Kathy Bates.
A new parent was a bit confused walking into the school on Friday. Not only were there a lot of older-looking "students" milling around the staircases, but a sign outside the front door read "Walter Read High School" rather than the usual .
For a few days before the new school year kicks off on Wednesday, the school is the set for Harry's Law, and Academy Award-winner Kathy Bates was on hand for the second season of her show as a highly-paid patent lawyer.
The scenes shot at Walter Reed will air this season, and take place in a high school. Air conditioning vents were brought in for the administration office because the existing central air was too loud for filming.

One teacher had to ask Bates to move from the front of a classroom, then realized who it was. Bates won an Oscar for her frightening role in Misery in 1990.
The school has been used in many settings, but was also a "hospital" when the in a speech and showed it as the Walter Reed Medical Center instead.
