UPDATE: Walter Reed Lights Are Back On
An hour before school opens, power is out. Electricians were on the scene, and by 9:15 the lights were back on.
The hallways are dark, but students are continuing to file in to l in Studio City, despite a lack of power.
The Los Angeles Unified School District told the school to remain open and electricians are on the scene, a school official told Studio City Patch.
By 9:15 a.m., the entire school had the lights back on.

When first coming to school, the students seemed a bit hesitant. They walked into a dark Administration building. The classrooms have windows, so only the hallways in the middle of the school building are dark. Some of the classrooms remain chilly, however.
Attendance among the 1,650 middle school students is lighter than usual.

There was no damage to the school itself other than a few downed branches from trees.
