Walter Reed Middle School Opens with Two New Academies
First day of middle school sails smoothly, depending on who you ask.
The first day of school is always hectic but the principal, Donna Tobin of Walter Reed Middle School in Studio City said, "The office manager, Linda Caurara-Morales really runs the school."
Caurara-Morales said, "It is crazy beyond belief but it is a good day."
The school is opening a new culinary academy and environmental academy with about 150 students along with their other special interest branches. Some teachers were concerned that there weren't going to be enough seats for their students, but so far all is well.

Angelica Garza a new sixth-grade parent said, "They are so friendly and organized here, they answer your question and move on to the next one."
Garza said she was concerned because she lives 12 miles away and there are no buses, but now she feels better leaving her son in their care, adding, "I know he's in good hands."
