The proceeds will be split between children's cancer research and women's breast cancer research. Last year the Concert for the Cure raised over $8,000! Included with the fabulous performances on the day will be a Silent Auction and Raffle, Valentine's Day items, and a delicious Bake Sale. All donations are welcome and you can pre-order your tickets now.
Fiddler on the Roof Production Meeting on February 6that 6:30pm, in Room 147. The production is looking for assistance in all your areas of expertise: Costumes, sound, lighting, sets, carpentry, props, hair and makeup, and publicity! Please Help with Instrument Check Out: For an easy, quick and fun way to make a great contribution to the music department, sign-up to spend 20 minutes even 1 day a weekchecking instruments In/Out either at 7:30am, or 2:50pm (1:20pm on Tuesdays). The biggest challenge is being on time, which is important. Otherwise it's almost a no brainer. The particular need is for afternoons. Email Bonnie Pierone to inquire. bonniebarks@gmail.com
Conservatory of Fine Arts - 2nd Semester Openings
The LAUSD Conservatory of Fine Arts is a FREE Saturday program (held on campus at CULA) for students talented in the visual or performing arts. We are excited to announce a limited number of second semester openings! If you know a student who is talented in the visual or performing arts, please download the attached application and emergency card and return it to the GATE office by February 15, 2012. Students do not have to be identified as gifted to apply, however, identified students will be given priority placement.
At this time, the space available is as follows:
Visual Arts - 15 spaces (Secondary)
Drama- 21 spaces (Grades 7-12)
Voice- 9 spaces (Grades 3-6); 16 spaces (Grades 7-12)
Dance - No space available
Please take advantage of this rare opportunity for second semester enrollment in the Conservatory of Fine Arts. Enrolled students will automatically be invited to participate in next year's program.
