Watch: Bumbling Bad Guys Outgunned By Jewelry Store Owner
Police hope someone will recognize a pair of brazen robbers who bumbled an attempt to rob a jewelry store in Studio City.
STUDIO CITY, CA — Police are asking for help identifying two men involved in the botched robbery of a jewelry store on Ventura Boulevard. The men walked into the shop on May 25 at about 4:30 p.m. armed with pepper spray and hammers, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. They sprayed the store's owner with the pepper spray and began smashing display cases.
"The first suspect also swung his hammer at the store owner," an LAPD spokesperson said in a written statement.
But they were literally outgunned by the store's owner, who opened fire, forcing the bumbling robbers to flee on foot down Ventura Boulevard toward North Hollywood.
