We absolutely must show visible support to keep the Metro and the Campo in Studio City. If we do not, we will not have the directional input that is necessary to guide whatever type of development goes in. CD4 has already written a Letter suggesting that all development on the Barham side be considered for the Metro side - on Lankershim Blvd.
We have presented a Map on redistricting that is acceptable. There is no reason for this split to happen. There is correspondence being sent around that states that both the Metro and the Campo are in Toluca Lake, but according to the United States Postal Service, that is not how it is listed. They are in Studio City and there is a sign on a post that indicates that.
Click here for the Meeting Agenda. It says the meeting starts at 10:30 AM, but we are asking you to arrive by 10:00 AM due to limited seating inside the Council Chamber. You can have a much bigger impact by being present inside the room than outside. If you cannot make it - please COPY, PASTE and send in an email to: ALL COUNCIL MEMBERS LISTED BELOW. Make sure you sign and include your address.
Dear Councilmember:
It is unrealistic to allow the Metro and the Campo to be put into a Council District (CD4) that will not suffer the immediate Negative Impacts of any Development that is allowed at the Metro. Studio City and all communities West of Lankershim Blvd., will suffer the consequences for years. Toluca Lake is protected by a Mountain - namely Universal Studios. A Map has been submitted that allows Toluca Lake to remain in CD4 without any encroachment into Studio City, CD2. The DEIR put out by Universal indicated that there would be more than 50 UNAVOIDABLE NEGATIVE IMPACTS - that means they can't be fixed and would still be allowed.
