Will Brad Sherman Make An Appearance At A Forum Out of His District Friday Oct 10th?

Candidate Mark Reed openly meets with residents and discusses issues, while 9-term incumbent refuses any forum set within the District.

Mark Reed, local resident, and favored candidate, chose to respect the voters of the district and refused to participate in the Oct 10th date for one reason: It is being held at a location outside the district, and inconvenient for voters of the 30th District to attend. This outside location was initiated by Sherman.

Five local organizations, within the district, offered a location to the League of Women Voters. Meanwhile, the LA-LWV confirms they had moderated a forum in October 2012, between Berman-Sherman, at OneGeneration, which is in the district, and they thought it strange that the Congressman would ask for a location outside the district.

Reed, known for offering a solution to problems had made numerous suggestions, including a location 3 miles from Sherman’s Porter Ranch* house. The Glendale/Burbank League of Women Voters chose to relay the Congressman’s refusal to Reed’s office.

The guidelines for non-profits participating or sponsoring a forum does not allow the appearance of a lone-candidate when the other candidate has given a refusal to participate. (Justifiable and legitimate grounds for refusal).

However, Mark Reed participated in a pertinent video interview by Sean McCarthy and Tony Michelman of the Valley Regional Forum, which can be viewed via this link. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c9QHSK0-s2A. Brad Sherman has not, as of the date of this post, chosen to be interviewed.

*Note: The Porter Ranch house is being privately investigated as a dubious tax-shelter, which allows the Congressman to gain a 90% discount on property taxes under the guise of Prop 13 roll-over qualification.

*Note: Mark Reed is known to solve problems: During an April 2014 “Government Affairs Committee Meeting,“ held by the United Chambers of Commerce in Van Nuys, Assemblyman Gatto asked the UCC to support AB1839, for film industry tax incentives. Mark Reed explained the need to include veterans hired by the film industry as an additional qualifier. He made a motion for the UCC not only to support the bill, but also to add a friendly amendment to include incentives for veterans hired by the film industry.
