William Shatner Talks on ‘View’ About Wife’s Death in his Studio City Pool
He is promoting his just-released book.
It is a touchy subject with local resident , but he openly discussed it on Wednesday on The View.
He was on the show promoting his new book and his two TV shows, and talking about his “and one of them is to always say, “Yes.”
Barbara Walters said to Shatner, “This book is funny and charming. Some of the chapters are rather harrowing, you wrote of the death of your third wife, who in 1999 was found in your swimming pool.”

She pointed out that Shatner was suspected for being involved in some way—he pointed out by the tabloids.
Shatner still lives in the house where his wife was found dead, and is now remarried.

Normally reluctant to talk about his third wife, she said. “Imagine having this terrible tragedy of your beloved wife and then tabloids are insinuating that I had something to do with it. It was beyond belief. The reason I discuss it in book if you are loving person… it never goes away and they need desire for love even through tragedy.”
Shatner also hosts the shows The Aftermath and Raw Nerve.
