Missing Pieces of Sidewalk

Hi Lisa -  Why doesn't the city fill in the missing pieces of sidewalk on west bound Ventura Boulevard between Tujunga and Colfax?

Interesting that you should ask!  I started my campaign for that sidewalk in early 2007 and it was approved in July, 2007.  Since that time, the money has been approved to be withdrawn from the Ventura/Cahuenga Boulevard Corridor Specific Plan Trust Fund, but the city cannot seem to get the dedications necessary to do the improvements.  I ask every month for an update and you know the rest…just wait a little while longer.

Recycle Batteries?

Do you know any place in or near SC where we can recycle household batteries? 

JiffyLube in Sherman Oaks used to collect them, but they tell me that the city stopped picking up the batteries.

Rechargeable batteries and old cell phones are recyclable. Find a local participant who takes rechargeable batteries.
