18-Year-Old Killed In Fairfield Shooting
Police said two shootings occurred almost simultaneously, the second of which was fatal. Anyone with information is urged to contact FPD.
SOLANO COUNTY, CA — Fairfield police on Wednesday afternoon identified an 18-year-old man killed in a shooting as Cameron Fritzjames Wittman of Fairfield. Wittman's death, which is being investigated as a homicide, occurred shortly after midnight Tuesday as Fairfield police responded to two separate spates of 911 calls that came in just seconds apart, according to police Lt. Jausiah Jacobsen.
The lieutenant said patrol officers heard several gunshots as dispatchers simultaneously received the first round of 911 calls reporting that individuals had been shot in the 1000 block of First Street.
Officers arrived and found several teenagers in the street: two males, ages 15 and 16, sustained non-life threatening gunshot wounds and were transported by ambulance to a local trauma hospital, Jacobsen said.

Four additional males ranging in age from 15 to 18, all from Fairfield or Suisun City, were located at the scene on First Street and were detained, Jacobsen said.
Then, almost immediately after the initial 911 calls, additional callers reported a traffic collision had just occurred in the area of Kansas and Tyler streets, Jacobsen said.

"Officers responded and found evidence of a shooting in addition to the crashed cars," Jacobsen said.
One 18-year-old male, identified Wednesday as Wittman, died at the scene from apparent gunshot wounds, the lieutenant said.
Investigations into both shootings were ongoing Wednesday, and Fairfield police believe the two incidents are related.
"Based on the investigation, detectives believe the involved parties are associated and this was not a random act," Jacobsen said.
