2-Alarm Fairfield Fire Causes Damage To Surrounding Homes
A two-alarm fire Monday afternoon at a single-family home in east Fairfield caused heat damage to a next door residence.

FAIRFIELD - A two-alarm fire Monday afternoon at a single-family home in east Fairfield caused heat damage to a next door residence and burned a deck at another home about a block away, a Fairfield Fire Department battalion chief said.
The fire started around 12:45 p.m. outside the single-family residence at 1734 Kolob Drive. It caused major damage to the attached garage and minor heat damage to the house next door, Battalion Chief John Sturdee said.
An ember from the fire also started a blaze on the outdoor deck and hot tub area of a residence on nearby Kearny Court, Sturdee said.

Damage to all three homes is estimated at $150,000 Sturdee said.
The cause of the first fire is under investigation but is believed to be accidental.

Firefighters controlled the first house fire in a half-hour but were on the scene of the fires until 3:30 p.m., Sturdee said.
There were no injuries.
The Cordelia Fire Department also responded to the fires, and Vacaville and Vallejo fire departments provided mutual aid.
