2 Fairfield Teens In Solano County Juvy Hall After Robbery Attempt Of Cell Phone

The young suspects, 16 and 13, allegedly punched and threatened another teen when he would not give up his phone.

Police in Fairfield arrested two teens on suspicion of attempted robbery Friday after they allegedly tried to steal another teen’s cellphone.

Police said the victim, a 14-year-old, said he was walking on Dover Avenue near Linear Trail around 8:30 a.m. when two juveniles in their mid-teens approached him and demanded his cellphone.

The victim told police one of the suspects had a knife, and the other told him he was armed with a gun, although the victim never saw a gun. Police said one of the suspects punched the victim in the face when he refused to hand over his cellphone.

The suspects then checked his pockets and fled the area when they couldn’t find his cellphone.

Police said officers located one of the suspects, a 13-year-old, on Cement Hill Road near Atlantic Avenue. Police said he was in possession of a knife.

The second suspect, a 16-year-old, was located at Fairfield High School.

Police said neither suspect was found to be in possession of a gun.

The victim was able to identify both teens, and they were booked into Solano County Juvenile Hall on suspicion of attempted robbery.

The victim told police he was in pain from being punched, but he was otherwise uninjured.
