2nd Fairfield Murder Suspect Caught In Vallejo

Fairfield police say the second suspect wanted for the murder of a man near a Fairfield school in early April has been arrested.

FAIRFIELD - Fairfield police say the second suspect wanted for the murder of a man near a Fairfield school in early April has been arrested.

Police say Kyle Matthew Amos was arrested Thursday in Vallejo for the shooting death of La Angelo Darnell Stroughter on April 6.

Stroughter, 28-year-old Fairfield resident, was shot and killed near Grange School. The school at 1975 Blossom Ave. was temporarily placed on lockdown.

The first suspect, Demetrius Lamar Kelly, a Suisun City resident, was taken into custody on April 21 after he surrendered to detectives.

According to Fairfield police, the United States Marshals Service was the lead agency in locating Amos about 5 p.m. in the 100 block of Sawyer Street in Vallejo.

Amos was booked at the Solano County Jail and charged with murder in connection with the shooting death Stroughter.

This case is actively under investigation and police say no further information is available at this time.

The U.S. Marshals Service was assisted in Amos' apprehension by the Solano County Sheriff's Special Enforcement Team and the Vallejo Police Department's Crime Reduction Team.
