6 Injured In Shooting As Rap Video Filmed In Fairfield: Police
A person wearing a mask entered a local business and opened fire as filming was underway, Fairfield police said.

FAIRFIELD, CA — At least six people were injured over the weekend when a person wearing a mask entered a Fairfield business where a rap video was being filmed and started shooting, police said. Multiple calls were received at about 8:48 p.m. Saturday about a shooting that had just occurred in the 1700 block of N. Texas St., Fairfield police Spokesman Greg Hurlbut said in a news release.
Fairfield police immediately responded and found that multiple people were injured in the shooting, some of whom had already left the scene and were taken to a local hospital by private parties, Hurlbut said.
Medical attention was provided to the injured parties still on scene as police investigators responded and began to secure the area, the spokesman said.

Investigators spoke with those at the scene and determined that the group had permission to film the music video at the business. While filming was underway, a person wearing a mask over their face and a dark hoodie with the hood pulled up came in through the front door of the closed business and opened fire, Hurlbut said.
"The shooter immediately began to flee on foot while still shooting at the business," Hurlbut said.

Although evidence gathered at the scene indicated multiple people returned gunfire, there was nothing to indicate the shooter was injured in the crossfire, Hurlbut said.
Four people were injured by gunfire: two had gunshot wounds to the back of their heads and two had gunshot wounds to their backs. The shooting victims were described as a 25-year-old Antioch resident, a 29-year-old Oakland resident, a 29-year-old Antioch resident and a 23-year-old Fairfield resident.
Another two people were injured as they ran from the scene: one suffered a broken leg and the other hurt their ankle, Hurlbut said.
As of midday Sunday, police had not identified a suspect in the shooting.
Police did recover five firearms from the scene, along with another gun that one of the shooting victims allegedly had in their possession.
One arrest was made for alleged illegal possession of a firearm.
Hurlbut said detectives are continuing their investigation; anyone with pertinent information should call the Fairfield Police Department at 707-428-7344, he said.
