Animal Cruelty Suspected In Kitten's Death: Fairfield Police

The 4- to 5-week-old kitten died after it was dropped off at a local veterinary clinic, according to Fairfield police.

SOLANO COUNTY, CA — Fairfield police arrested a 22-year-old man on suspicion of animal cruelty Monday after a local animal hospital call police to report that a young kitten suffering from significant trauma had been dropped off at its facility. Officers responded at about 11:30 a.m. to investigate, and through witness statements and prior contacts, were able connect suspect Keith Hebert to the incident, Fairfield police Sgt. Matt Bloesch said.

"While the officers were looking for Hebert, the vet hospital called and stated the kitten, estimated to be 4-5 weeks old, died from its injuries," Bloesch said.

Officers soon located Hebert near a business in the 200 Block of East Tabor Avenue, the sergeant said.
