Armijo hadn’t reached the Sac-Joaquin Section semifinals since 1989 before head coach Christian Stoll’s team did a complete turnaround this year. The Indians won their first Monticello Empire League tile since 2001 this year. Then, came their historic two-game run through the Northern California tourney.

“We worked really hard all season, but it was very rewarding,” Armijo head coach Christian Stoll said. “We’re not the type team that can hang in with a team in the top 100 in the nation, but we know we’re giving everything we have.”
