Attempted Child Abduction Reported In Dixon

A man and a woman attempted to lure a boy inside their truck Friday evening in Dixon, according to the police.

The 8 year old told authorities he was alone in a church parking lot on the 400 block of East H Street when a blue Toyota Tacoma pickup approached with a male and female, described as white and in their 50s, inside, the Dixon Police Department said.

The boy said that the woman told him to get in the truck, however, he did not comply and, instead, walked back into the church and reported the incident to adults.

Officers were called to the scene at 7:45 p.m.

Dixon police wishes to remind citizens to be cautious and alert of their surroundings.
