Bicyclist Critically Injured in Vacaville Collision

A 27-year old Vacaville woman suffered major head trauma when she was hit by a vehicle this morning and is in critical condition at a hospital, police said.

The vehicle was traveling east on a green light on Elmira Road near Shasta Drive when the bicycle crossed Elmira Road against a ‘Don’t Walk’ sign, police said.

The bicyclist was not visible to the driver because other vehicles traveling in the same direction were slightly ahead of the driver, according to police.

The vehicle’s driver stopped and called 911, police said. The crash was reported at 7:11 a.m.

Police asked anyone who saw the collision to call Officer Chad Hudson at (707) 449-5200.
