Blood Trail Throughout Fairfield Neighborhood Was Injured Dog: PD

BREAKING: Blood found on Lockie Lane, Joseph Greaves and Falati Lane, and near Gary Falati Park, turned out to be from a dog, police say.

SOLANO COUNTY, CA — A trail of blood found Friday in a Fairfield neighborhood was determined to have been left by an injured dog, Fairfield police said. Initially, officers were dispatched to the 5000 block of Lockie Lane where a resident reported finding blood on their porch and on the sidewalk, Fairfield police said in a statement.

Officers discovered a blood trail on Lockie Lane, Joseph Greaves and Falati Lane, and in the area of Gary Falati Park, and found blood on several of the neighborhood porches.

While searching the area, officers found a dog with an injury to its mouth.

They believed the dog's injury was the source of the blood and after reviewing footage from residents' doorbell cameras, their suspicions were confirmed.

Officers transported the dog to Human Animal Services and ultimately, the canine was taken to a local veterinarian for treatment, Fairfield police said.
