Body Found Floating In Fairfield Creek
A person riding a train through town initially reported the body to police.

FAIRFIELD, CA — A woman's body was discovered floating in a creek Thursday near the railroad tracks off Union Avenue in Fairfield, police said. Police responded to the site at about 9 a.m. after a person riding a train through town reporting seeing what appeared to be a body in the creek.
Once the tip was confirmed, police cordoned off the area — east of the 400 block of Union Avenue near the railroad tracks — and searched for any potential evidence.
Meanwhile, a team of rescue divers from the Solano County Office of Emergency Services responded in order to recover the body from the water.

Police said the body was that of a woman between 30 and 40 years old who had no clothes on when she was pulled from the creek.
The were no obvious signs of trauma to the body, and no evidence of foul play was found in the area, police said.

An autopsy is being conducted to determined the cause of death, police said.
