Candle Vigil Set In Solano Co. For Domestic-Violence Victims
Show your support on Thursday at Fairfield City Hall.

SOLANO COUNTY, CA – October is Domestic Violence awareness month. In observance, the Fairfield Police Department has teamed up with the Solano County District Attorney’s Office to host a candlelight vigil on Oct. 20.
On average, 24 people per minute are victims of rape, physical violence, or stalking by an intimate partner in the United States, the department said. Over the course of a year, that equals more than 12 million victims of domestic violence. Approximately 33 million U.S. adults admit that they were victims of domestic violence and women, 18 to 24 years old, are at the greatest risk.
It has also been shown that one in five children report witnessing a family assault during their lifetime, police said.
