SUISUN CITY, CA — A Suisun City police officer recently had an emotional reunion when a family he ended up babysitting for came to the Police Department to thank him for going above and beyond his call of duty.

Suisun City PD shared the sweet story via social media this week, saying Officer McCabe was dispatched to a 911 call in December 2018 from Javier Pulido, who said his wife had passed out and was not responding to him.

It turned out that Javier's wife had suffered a cardiac arrest and needed to be rushed to the hospital. Javier, who is a quadriplegic, was left at the residence to care for their 8-month-old daughter, police said.

Being a new father of an infant daughter, McCabe "saw the distress that Javier was in and offered to watch their daughter so he could go to the hospital and be with his wife," police said.

McCabe reportedly stayed and cared for the couple's daughter for over an hour until family members from out of the area arrived to take care of the baby.
