Defense leads way as Solano women cruise in Nor Cal soccer tourney
Keeper Gulbertson keeps shutout streak alive against Yuba College.
ROCKVILLE – Solano Communtiy College's women registered their fourth straight shutout to roll past Yuba College, 3-0, in the opening round of the Northern California Community College Athletic Association playoffs on Saturday.
Solano's defense will lead the way Tuesday when the Falcons host Cosumnes River at 2 p.m.
SCC's offense took time to get in gear. After having an offside penalty have an apparent goal called back, Solano talled when Briana Scholtens passed to Sabrina Caires who scored.

Ten minutes into the second half, SCC's Krysta Caughman passed to Natalie Loyola. Loyola scored from 20 yards away.
Goalkeeper Christine Gilbertson sparkled for SCC. She stopped all three Yuba second-half shots.

Kirsten Jennings scored off an assist from Alyssa Orme with 8:58 remaining in the contest to end the scoring.
