Del Taco Opens To A Rush Of Customers
Friday before lunch the line kept getting replenished at a newly-opened Del Taco

On Friday at near noon the rush at Del Taco was on with hungry customers waiting for their meals and more than a dozen employees running at full tilt.
Given the projections for mid- to late January for the opening date of Del Taco, the opening late last week was only slightly behind estimates given in November.
The remodeled building sports mosaic panels of Mexican food made possible by a $10,000 grant from the city’s redevelopment agency façade improvement grant, according to city planning staff documents.

Indy Pahwa, director of operations and development at Bay Valley Foods, the firm in charge of opening area Del Tacos in Cordelia and Vacaville, said in November the location drew his eye to establishing the business in the Heritage Shopping Center.
“I think visibility was a plus, access and proximity to the anchor,” he said. Pahwa said Del taco would hire about 35 employees.

Judging by the packed crowd at Del taco on Friday, Pahwa is on his way to launching a successful enterprise.
