Driver Blows Through Stop Sign, Found With 120+ Stolen Pills, Loaded Gun Under Seat: Police

SOLANO COUNTY, CA – A Fairfield man was arrested in his hometown on Tuesday on suspicion of several weapons and narcotics offenses, police said Sunday.

Demario Newton, 25, was stopped at 4:30 p.m. on state Highway 12 and Pennsylvania Avenue for failing to stop at a stop sign.

Newton allegedly had a suspended license and was arrested, according to police.

The officer who stopped Newton searched the suspect's vehicle and allegedly found a loaded 9mm handgun under the driver's seat and more than 120 stolen prescription pills.

Newton was booked into the county jail.
