DUI Checkpoint Arrests and Tickets Tallied
The City of Fairfield started the holiday weekend by cracking down on drivers.

FAIRFIELD, CA — A DUI checkpoint in Fairfield on Friday resulted in 19 citations or arrests, according to police.
The checkpoint was conducted at North Texas Street north of East Tabor Avenue between 6 p.m. and midnight, police said.
Officers screened 1,200 vehicles, arresting one driver on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, another on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs, and a third for an outstanding felony
warrant.

Officers cited or arrested 16 drivers for driving while unlicensed or with a suspended license. Five other drivers were served with a notice of a suspended license, police said.
Police said another DUI checkpoint is planned later this month.
