Fairfield Firefighters Battle House Blaze Early Sunday Morning

Firefighters battled a house fire in Fairfield Sunday morning.

Fire crews responded to a report of a structure fire in the 1100 block of Van Buren Street around 1:50 a.m., fire officials said.

Firefighters arrived to find heavy smoke and fire coming from the front of a home, according to fire officials.

The blaze was contained to the home, which sustained major heat and smoke damage, fire officials said.

No injuries were reported. 

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
