Fairfield Man, 18, Arrested In Suisun City Home Burglary: Police

Breaking: Police were also questioning four other people in connection with the alleged break-in.

SUISUN CITY, CA -- Suisun City police arrested an 18-year-old Fairfield man and detained two other adults and two juveniles from Fairfield and Suisun City in connection with a home burglary Tuesday.

The owner of a home in the 1200 block of Grey Hawk Lane in Suisun City confronted four people he found in his home when he arrived around 9:45 a.m., police said.

The two adults and two juveniles left in a gray van, and the homeowner described the vehicle to police and said the burglars might have stolen a firearm, police said.

A Suisun City police officer spotted the van and followed it until other officers arrived. Police stopped the van on Craven Drive east of Bauman Drive and detained the four burglary suspects.

The homeowner called police again to report a fifth person, a juvenile, was sleeping in a bed in his residence, and an officer responded and took him into custody, police said.

One of the suspects in the vehicle told police he was shot Monday evening in the leg in Vacaville, and he was taken to the NorthBay Medical Center in Fairfield for treatment of a gunshot wound, police said.

Police found a handgun, electronics and antique silverware in the vehicle and towed it to the Suisun City Police Department.

Police arrested one of the three adults, Daniel Mitchell, 18, of Suisun on suspicion of burglary.

One of the two juveniles was reported as a runaway from Vacaville, and police learned the suspect with the gunshot wound was accidentally shot by one of the other occupants of the van while it was traveling to an unknown location Monday evening.

Additionally, police learned that there was a very distant relationship between the homeowner and at least one of the suspects, who took advantage of the homeowner's absence to enter his vacant home, police said.
