Fairfield Man Convicted Of Sex With Child Who Was 8 Years Old

A Solano County jury on Monday convicted a Fairfield man of having sexual intercourse with a child 10 years old or younger.

FAIRFIELD, CA - A Solano County jury on Monday convicted a Fairfield man of having sexual intercourse with a child 10 years old or younger, Solano County District Attorney Krishna Abrams said.

Fabian Salazar Jacobo, 40, was convicted of sexual intercourse, sodomy and lewd acts with the victim who was 8 years old at the time of the offenses, Abrams said.

The victim, now 10, testified against Jacobo in court, Abrams said.

The jury convicted Jacobo despite defense efforts to discredit the victim and police officers and the testimony by a child suggestibility expert and a false confession expert, Abrams said.

Jacobo faces a minimum of 50 years in prison when he is sentenced Sept. 12.
