PREVIOUS COVERAGE: Mandatory Atlas Fire evacuations were issued Monday night for Twin Sisters Road and Joyce Lane west of Fairfield, the Fairfield Police Department said in an alert at just after 8 p.m. Meanwhile, an Atlas Fire evacuation advisory remained in effect for residents in the Green Valley area west of Fairfield.
The evacuations come as the Fairfield Fire Department has been coordinating with the Cordelia Fire Protection District and CAL Fire to monitor the large Napa County wildfire that is moving east toward Solano County, said Fairfield police Sgt. Jeff Osgood.
"Based on expected weather this afternoon and evening Cal Fire has issued an evacuation advisory for the Green Valley area west of Green Valley Road from Mason, north to Valley End Lane," Osgood said. "This means we strongly encourage folks to evacuate now if possible. If the wind changes as expected, a formal evacuation order is imminent."
The evacuation advisory includes:
- All streets off of Green Valley Road north of Rockville Road (the four-way stop)
- All streets in Green Valley Estates west of Green Valley Road (Paseo Arboles / Via Vaquero)
- All streets on the west side of Green Valley Road from Mason Rd to Valley End
The evacuation does not include any area within the Fairfield city limits, Osgood said.
