That's how Fairfield police announced to local residents, via Twitter, that officers were performing a rescue - of a kitten.

"Anyone can climb a tree to rescue a cat. Rescuing one from a storm drain takes talent," Fairfield Police Officer Kathryn McCormick tweeted next,

As Public Works department employees showed up, the event became a web event, complete with play-by-play.

Three hours and "several ideas" later, the kitten is seen being pulled from the drainage hole, apparently safe and healthy - based on a loud and robust voice - and now on the way to the vet.

Responding to an online thanks tweet directed to Fairfield police, McCormick revealed a soft side of the department.
