Fairfield Shooting: Police Actively Searching For Suspect

SOLANO COUNTY, CA — A shooting Thursday in Fairfield left a person with life-threatening injuries and police were actively searching for the shooter Thursday evening. The shooting was reported at about 2:20 p.m. in the 1400 block of W. Texas Street and when officers arrived, they found evidence of the shooting in a driveway between two businesses, according to Fairfield police Sgt. Matt Bloesch.

Not long after the shooting was reported a male victim arrived at a local hospital, suffering from a gunshot wound to his lower torso.

"He was driven there by a friend," Bloesch said. "His injury is considered life-threatening."

Police have spoken to witnesses, who described the shooter only as a young male wearing a dark sweatshirt who fled southbound through a trailer park.

"He has not yet been identified or located," Bloesch said.
