Fairfield Woman Suspected Of Stabbing Sister To Death: Police

SOLANO COUNTY, CA — The Fairfield Police Department's investigation into a homicide Monday has revealed that a woman stabbed her sister to death during a family disturbance at their mobile home, then tried to kill another family member, police alleged Tuesday. Antoinette Clay, 43, of Fairfield, has been booked into Solano County Jail on suspicion of murder, attempted murder and violating her probation, police said.

Clay's sister, identified by police as Mary Ellan Douglas, 41, of Fairfield was pronounced deceased shortly after authorities responded at 6:48 p.m. to a 911 call regarding a family disturbance at a home in the 100 block of Valencia Drive — off Air Base Parkway and Walters Road in the Dover Mobile Home Park.

Monday night, police said they had detained two people who were outside the residence when officers arrived at the scene.

"Detectives from our Investigations Bureau worked through the night processing the scene for evidence and interviewing witnesses," Fairfield police said in a statement Tuesday afternoon. "Detectives learned that during a family disturbance Antoinette Clay ... used a knife to kill her sister ..."

The second family member suffered injuries considered non-life threatening, police said.
